About Rach Peri Pilates
I’m Rachel Perica- dancer, Pilates educator, movement specialist, and lifelong student of the body.
My relationship with movement began at three years old, when I discovered that physical expression was not only how I moved through the world, but how I learned, communicated, and understood myself. That connection led me into a professional dance career spanning both Australia and overseas, including several years performing with contemporary dance companies in Israel.
Pilates initially became a form of cross-training to support the physical demands of professional dance. What began as conditioning quickly evolved into a deeper fascination with biomechanics, movement efficiency, injury prevention, and the body’s capacity for adaptation and resilience. Through Pilates, I developed the strength and control needed to support my hypermobility, sustain the intensity of performance seasons, and remain injury-free throughout the demands of company life.
Since 2010, I have worked extensively across the Pilates, dance, and movement education industries, helping clients and fellow movement professionals develop a more intelligent, embodied understanding of movement. My work bridges the gap between performance, rehabilitation, and high-level movement training, with a particular interest in hypermobility, movement quality, body awareness, and sustainable longevity within demanding physical careers.
Alongside private sessions and studio teaching, I am passionate about mentoring instructors, collaborating with allied health professionals, and delivering industry workshops and continuing education for movement practitioners seeking greater depth and clinical reasoning within their teaching.
My approach is thoughtful, highly individualised, and grounded in both lived experience and professional practice. Whether working with dancers, Pilates instructors, rehabilitation clients, or high-performing bodies, I aim to create an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and deeply connected to their movement.
